Sessions

A Typical Day

Our day begins with wake & shake, as we feel this helps to energise and engage the children in a positive and healthy  way that promotes well-being and confidence. This includes; yoga, dancing, singing, exercises & group games. The children then begin their free play - creative learning activities are set up within the two classrooms and our wonderful outdoor spaces that are expertly planned around Early Years seven areas of learning. Children also enjoy our 'messy room' involving sand, water and sensory play. Children are able to move around the setting and choose their activities independently, based on their own interests. Children are provided with a tasty,  healthy snack which we encourage them to prepare alongside our staff.  Outdoor play & learning is central to our ethos and we use our areas as much as possible throughout the year and during all types of weathers. Children use our allotment area to plant seeds and grow vegetables, use the sensory garden that leads to 'The Den' for role-play and story-time; and much fun is had in our playground, on trikes & scooters whilst team-work and communication flourishes in the construction area. Our afternoon session starts with lunch together and then follows a similar pattern finishing with a story and song time.
